Book Signing with Kevin Otte
FREE
Saturday, Oct. 17 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Join us for a book signing with former U.S. Marine and science fiction author, Kevin Otte!
ABOUT THE BOOK
Secrets of the Titans presents a vision of the future, combining themes of corporate legacy, space exploration, and emerging technology. In the late 22nd century, the story follows the McIntyre family, a powerful dynasty whose business empire has evolved over generations into a global leader in innovation, industry, and space exploration.
The narrative centers on Gavin McIntyre, newly appointed CEO of McIntyre Industries following the unexpected death of his father. As the seventh generation in a line of visionary industrialists, Gavin inherits more than a title. He faces the burden of legacy, the complexities of modern corporate leadership, and unresolved mysteries from the family's past.
A pivotal moment in the novel unfolds with the mysterious malfunction of the Cassini 3 spacecraft near Saturn's moon Titan. This event poses a significant threat to vast scientific data and raises suspicions of hidden motives within McIntyre Industries. As Gavin McIntyre inherits the reins of a powerful corporate dynasty, he grapples with personal uncertainty, a lack of an heir, and the pressure to uphold a legacy built on breakthroughs in aerospace, energy, and advanced technology.
Grounded in real scientific possibilities, the story envisions a future shaped by innovations like smart infrastructure and space exploration, while exploring the weight of leadership, ambition, and buried family secrets.
The story also explores the dynamics of loyalty and tradition as Gavin reconnects with his childhood friend, Franklin Meriwether, now the estate manager, and encounters Jolene Chaney, a figure from his past who unexpectedly reenters his life. These relationships highlight the tension between duty and desire, heritage and individual freedom.
Rather than presenting a dystopian or utopian future, the novel offers a nuanced exploration of progress, ambition, and the ethical implications of leadership in a rapidly evolving world.
Secrets of the Titans is available now at major retailers in paperback and digital formats.

HOW DOES THIS WRITING GROUP WORK?
This writing group is a little different from others you may be used to. We are looking for writers who want to focus on any current writing projects or those we are struggling to get through. Our lives are busy, so this is a great time to work on that project you’ve pushed to the side for too long or a project that you’re stuck on and need focused time to work through it.
WHO CAN JOIN?
All experience levels are welcome—just bring a project you are working on. If you forget your project or just want to wing it, we will have two writing prompts available each meeting.
HOW DO WE STAY FOCUSED?
We will be following the Pomodoro Technique, which is 20 minutes of writing and 5 minutes break. If there's time, we will open it up to sharing and gather feedback on our work.
AGENDA:
Introductions
3 minute writing warm-up / 2 minute share
20 minutes of focus time
5 minute break (Talk to other members, go to the bathroom, snack, get a beverage, check your phone, etc.)
Repeat 20 minutes of focus time
Repeat 5 minute break
Wrap up/Goodbyes
Whether you're working on your first story, your next novel, or looking to connect with other writers in the community, our monthly writing group is the perfect place to start.
NOTE: The class may go a little passed 8 p.m., but you’re more than welcome to head out any time.

Bryn’s Bio
Bryn (they/them) is the owner, deathwalker & death companion behind Silver Glass Deathcare. They are a queer, nonbinary human with passions for books, music, nature, nerdom & a good cup of tea. They live in Oshkosh, Wisconsin with their partners and their gaggle of dogs and cats.
After their father’s unexpected death when they were 19, Bryn developed a special interest in deathcare, funeral services, and grief work. They saw a culture that doesn’t know how to handle (or talk) about death, and sometimes a deep fear of mortality. Through education, open dialogue, community outreach, and hands-on care, they hope to destigmatize end-of-life conversations, return a sense of sacredness to the dying process, and contribute to a more death-aware Wisconsin and world.
Bryn has spent 6 years studying with death educators like Erin Merelli, Kacie Gikonyo, La Mort, & the Deathwives, and numerous hours of self-study and reading on the subject of deathcare. They specialize in helping clients who are LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse, non-Christian or nonreligious, pagan, and polyamorous.
Bryn’s approach to life and death is to leave the world better than they found it.

ABOUT THE BOOK
Acanthus and Cypress, an age old Vampire and a young new Werewolf, have accidentally started a war. Nekane, the Werewolf in charge, will go to any means necessary to capture Acanthus; meaning even humans are in danger. On the run, our non-binary heroes encounter others caught up in Nekane's hatred of vampires, witches, and any werewolves that fraternize with them! As Acanthus and Cypress regroup with the Night Garden, an underground organization committed to liberating any in Nekane's crosshairs, they're tasked with some of the hardest challenges they've faced yet!
Friend or foe? It's hard to judge just who to trust in a world wrought with danger. In this second book of the Tales From The Night Garden universe, our protagonists continue their adventure in this game of chess with very real consequences. A gaggle of strays begin to expand their found family and a love that blazes bright in the night starts to break out of the darkness.
What can Acanthus and Cypress do to convince Nekane to stand down, or are words not enough? How will these two fugitives handle inviting more refugees into their growing resistance? How will The Night Garden continue to save the disenfranchised Supernaturals when Nekane shows up at their Head Quarters' door!?
No one knows, but both Cypress and Acanthus have decided they can't run anymore. It's time to stand up for what is right and just. Will you stand up with them on their next journey?

ABOUT URSULA
Ursula Klein is originally from Maryland, where she grew up and attended university. She taught ESL in Europe after college, then returned to the United States and pursued graduate studies in New York. She has since lived in Tennessee, Texas, and Georgia before landing in her current location, Wisconsin. Ursula loves reading fantasy, romance, science fiction, and mysteries; she also enjoys crocheting, traveling, and spending time with her wife and young sons. She is a huge fan of dressing up in costumes, loves celebrating Halloween, and was probably a witch in a past life.
ABOUT THE BOOK
When Dr. Elizabeth Cowrie shows up in Salem, Massachusetts to study the witch trials, Hazel and her best friend, Roxy, are both instantly attracted to the workaholic professor. Roxy snags a date with Elizabeth first, but when their chemistry fizzles out, Hazel sees an opportunity to pursue Elizabeth herself—until she realizes Elizabeth is avowedly anti-magic.
That’s definitely a problem since Hazel is a bona fide witch: rides a broom, has a black cat, brews love potions, lives in a haunted house, and has a vampire ex-girlfriend. Roxy is the only person who knows the truth, and Hazel has gotten used to hiding who she is, but she can’t live a lie with the person she loves most. Can Hazel give up magic to make it work with Elizabeth? Or will she give up on the love of her life instead?
ABOUT CHARLOTTE
Charlotte was born in a tiny mountain town and spent most of her childhood and young adulthood in a small city in Northern Colorado. While she is usually what one might generously call "indoorsy," early exposure to the Rocky Mountains led to a lifelong love of nature, hiking, and camping. After a lengthy education in Denver, New Orleans, Washington DC, and New York, she earned a doctorate in literature and women and gender studies. She currently lives with her wife, two sons, and their cats in a small city in Wisconsin. Charlotte is a two-time Golden Crown Literary Society “Goldie” Winner for Gnarled Hollow and Legacy, and a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award for Gnarled Hollow.

ABOUT THE BOOKS
Gnarled Hollow (Spooky Thriller)
Unemployed English professor Emily Murray has been given a chance of a lifetime: to work and study inside Gnarled Hollow, the former estate of one of her favorite authors. She doesn’t believe in the supernatural, but by the end of her first day, she knows something is wrong. The house has a disturbing habit of changing dimensions—and not just physical ones. Rooms go missing, doors close on their own, and time has a strange tendency to disappear. Emily is joined by other scholars, among them the beautiful art historian, Juniper Friend. Together they begin to research the history of the house, refusing to abandon their work despite the appearance of a mysterious, frightening presence. Spurred on by their desire to uncover the mysteries of Gnarled Hollow and its ghostly inhabitant, they’re determined to uncover the truth, even if it means risking their own lives.
From the Woods (Horror)
When Fiona’s friends drag her along on a two-week backpacking trip in the remote Colorado mountains, she’s pleasantly surprised to learn that she’ll be spending that entire trip with their attractive trail guide, Roz. Once in the woods, however, far from anything resembling civilization, something or someone comes for them. With their lives in danger, Fiona and Roz are forced to set off on their own to look for help, drawing the threat from the woods and away from their friends but directly toward them.
