ABOUT THE BOOK
What if every heartbreak, every unanswered question, and every moment of feeling “not enough” … was actually guiding you home?
In The Owl from Within, weaves a powerful, deeply personal memoir of identity, love, loss, and spiritual awakening. Told through a dual timeline, her story unfolds in two parallel journeys—one of an adopted girl searching for where she comes from, and another of a woman navigating love, heartbreak, and the search for who she truly is.
As a child, she grows up grateful—but incomplete. Always wondering. Always feeling different. As a woman, she becomes confident—but lonely. Shapeshifting in relationships, trying to be what love demands.
Two lives. One wound. One truth waiting to be uncovered.
From the emotional highs of finding her biological family, to the devastating unraveling of relationships and identity, her journey reveals a deeper pattern—one that goes beyond coincidence. Through unexpected synchronicities, ancestral connections, and moments that feel guided by something greater, she begins to understand:
Nothing was random. Everything was aligning.
At the heart of this transformation is the symbolism of the owl—an ancient guide representing intuition, truth, and the ability to see through darkness. As she reconnects with her roots, her spirit, and her own voice, she discovers that the answers she had been searching for were never outside of her.
They were within her all along.
The Owl from Within is a story of becoming—of breaking cycles, reclaiming identity, and rising into your highest self. It is for anyone who has ever felt lost in love, disconnected from their past, or unsure of who they are … and is ready to finally come home to themselves.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Susan (Laufer) Keup is a writer, speaker, and advocate for personal transformation, self-discovery, and emotional healing. Through her deeply personal storytelling, she explores themes of identity, adoption, love, and the unseen forces that shape our lives.
After decades of searching for her origins while navigating relationships that challenged her sense of self, Susan uncovered a powerful truth: the journey to understanding where we come from is inseparable from discovering who we are. Her experiences—ranging from reconnecting with her biological family to rebuilding her life after heartbreak—became the foundation for The Owl from Within.
Rooted in both introspection and spiritual awareness, Susan’s work reflects her belief that life’s most painful moments are often the catalysts for growth, alignment, and purpose. Drawing inspiration from her Mayan heritage, symbolism, and the natural world, she encourages others to trust their intuition, embrace their story, and step into their highest self.
When she’s not writing, Susan enjoys spending time in nature, journaling, traveling, and guiding others through their own journeys of self-discovery.
